Neoprene® (Chloroprene) O-Rings

Chloroprene (Neoprene ®) O-rings have good abrasion, chemical, flex, heat, oil, weather and ozone resistance. They are used in dynamic applications because of their toughness. They can withstand low temperature to -26°C [-15°F]. Higher grade Neoprene® compounds can withstand low temperatures to -40°C [-40°F]. They can resist high temperatures to +100°C [+212°F]. Chloroprene O Rings are almost always referred to as Neoprene® O Rings.

Neoprene® seals are well suited for applications where, not only, oil and chemical resistance are required but also where weathering and ozone resistance are needed. Chloroprene is use in automotive timing belts, hoses, drive train boots and air springs. O-Rings are used in automotive air conditioning systems because of their resistance to the the hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants, PAG and other synthetic refrigerant oils.

Satori Seal supplies neoprene ® O-rings the the electrical industry for use electrical connectors, cabinets and connectors. The material is an excellent choice for this type of application because of the need to be weather and ozone resistant, it’s toughness and excellent resistance to compression forces.

Satori Seal supplies large quantities of O-Rings and seals for many industries and applications. With over 48 years of experience in providing both standard and custom Neoprene ® O-rings, Satori Seal can provide you with the best solution for your business. Contact our engineering or sales team for answers to your O Ring questions.

There are many factors to consider when designing a Neoprene ® O-ring for your application — dimensions, temperature range, fluid contact, dynamic or static seal to name a few. From there you can specify other criteria or work with one of our sales team to help select the ideal O-ring.
