NSF Rubber Compounds

NSF EPDM O-Rings

NSF EPDM O-Ring compounds are certified to NSF International’s ANSI/NSF61 standard. NSF International facilitates the develops standards designed to protect the world’s food water and environment. They provide strict auditing of factories and product testing to ensure compliance with the ANSI/NSF standards. EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is also commonly referred to EPR, EPT, and EPM.

Satori Seal’s EPDM NSF O Rings are well suited for use in applications such as valves, faucets and water filters for use with potable drinking water that require ANSI/NSF61 certification. Satori has a wide variety of NSF EPDM O-ring compounds ranging in hardness from 50 to 90 Shore A in both sulfur and peroxide cured compounds. EPDM NSF 61 O-rings with a sulfur cure offer good physical properties and are more cost effective than NSF EPDM O Rings with peroxide cure. Many companies that manufacture product for the plumbing industry are moving toward NSF EPDM O-rings with peroxide cure when chloramine resistance is required. NSF EPDM O-rings with peroxide cure are stronger and have better chemical and chloramine resistance than sulfur cured compounds.

NSF 61 EPDM O-Rings offer good low temperature flexibility, good temperature and water resistance. EPDM O-Rings have high tensile strength, high tear and abrasion resistance and excellent resistance to ozone and oxidation. They are well suited for dynamic and static sealing applications. They can withstand low temperature to -55°C [-67°F] and high temperatures to +125°C [+257°F]. And, because our rubber NSF EPDM compounds are fully saturated, meaning there is no double bonding between atoms, which makes it resistant to ozone attack.Custom epdm nsf o ring

Satori Seal supplies large quantities of ANSI / NSF 61 rubber EPDM seals for many applications. With over 48 years of experience in providing both standard and custom NSF EPDM 70 O-rings, Satori Seal can provide you with the best solution for your business. Contact our engineering or sales team for answers to your NSF EPDM O-ring questions. If a standard NSF EPDM O-ring won’t fit, we can make a customs size NSF EPDM O-ring to fit your application.

There are many factors to consider when designing an NSF EPDM O-ring for your application — dimensions, temperature range, dynamic or static seal to name a few. From there you can specify other special criteria or you can work with our engineering team to help select the ideal FDA compliant or food grade EPDM NSF 61 O Ring.
